Looking At Free Computer Registry Results

To learn more about the Free Scan we are going to look at an actual registry scan and some of what you will see when you do one on your computer. This test was done on a computer that was not working as it should, operating at slow speed and having some issues with freezing up.

Here are some of those results that the registry cleaner found: 622 incorrect registry entries, 45,810 junk files, 15,643 unprotected privacy files, 8,462 bad Active X items that were not blocked, 16 performance features that were not optimized, and 4 updates that the computer needed.

This looks very bad but I've seen much worse results than these. If you are like most people you will be very surprised at what the scan will find on your computer. Almost every computer can use a good cleaning up.

Now look across the top of the scan results display page you see the tabs... Registry, Junk Files, Privacy, Bad Active X, Performance, etc. Each of these tabs will show you the results of that area. The Junk Files are mainly temporary files such as internet data, pictures, web pages... And they are just taking up storage space.

Active X controls are used across the whole spectrum of computer and web technologies. These controls are referred to as the building blocks of the internet and as the glue that puts it all together. It is a standard that is used by all developers to make the web more useful and interactive. Without these control standards there would basically be no public internet.

Why are there so many bad Active X controls? Active X is not from one company but is a mechanism used by dozens. The interaction of different applications can cause an Active X control to not work and be replaced by another one. But the bad one is still data to your computer and is left in storage.

There is a lot a good registry cleaner can do for your computer. It can check for and download updates for Windows, Java and Adobe. Keeping updates current is an important part of good computer health. It can also protect your personal and business privacy as well as your online security.
